Got published in Kosmo!

It was my first Malay article and it focuses on the effects of social networking applications. I guess the Malay title would be "Kesan Aplikasi Sosial Maya". Maybe. Not so sure myself. :p Why don't you Google it up yourself?
Anyway, this one is a freebie from me. Please be very careful with what you write, share or expose in any of the social networking applications that you subscribed to; such as the ubiquitous Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and so forth. I know most of you may already know this but just to be sure, I will say it again - never expose your full bio or background and home or office address anywhere on the Internet! This kind of information are now like commodities and you'll never know where they will land or with whom they'll end up with. One thing for sure, it's most likely for nothing good.
Your Facebook friend wants to know your full name? What the..? Is he really your friend? Did you suffer from a total utilization of silly nicknames all the time during your uni days? And now he wants to know exactly where you live or work? Come on. Think about it. Giving out those kind of information is a serious affair. I once asked the same thing from a girl and that was for my rombongan meminang!
Okay, enough rambling. My point is, first and foremost, make sure whoever you came to know or re-discover through any social networking application is who he or she claims to be. If you're damn sure of it, just text or email the address to him/her. Never post it on your Facebook or MySpace.
Think first. Be smart. Be safe.
