Escape to Sarawak
Written by Hero on 7/26/2009 12:51:00 AMI just got back from Sarawak yesterday. I was there for a 2 days and 1 night trip with my boss and this gal from another agency. We arrived on Thursday noon and came back to Semenanjung on Friday afternoon. It was a very short visit and you can call it a lawatan kerja if you like.
Actually, I've never been to Sarawak before, and.. I am telling you.. it was a blast! Sarawak is such a beautiful state. For such a short period of time, our trip did involved getting to the top of a mountain on a 4WD through a narrow road, whose driver would be SMSing while driving like it's nothing (imagine that!), crossing the lowlands to get to the beach (furnished only with my boss' Google Map enabled BlackBerry - which he should approve one for me very soon!) and getting to the other side of that large river that runs through Kuching, in order to get a taste of Pak Lah Boyan's Mee Kolok (no, it's not that Pak Lah.. :p).
For some reason, I cannot exactly share the what, the why and the where of this trip. Too bad, I know. But believe me, I really can't.
However, I can share with you some of the photos I took with my trusty mobile phone with carefully crafted captions, of course. :p
This is the actual border stone. On the side that you see, it says "Malaysia" and the other side says "Indonesia".
I am in between two nations - so to speak!I do have lots of other photos. I'll see if I can share them here, insyaAllah. But one thing for sure, given the size of it, not even a month will be enough to explore the beauty of Sarawak. Kindly note that I am specifically referring to the nature.. the environment.. the scenery. No Sarawak's beauty. That would be a totally different entity.

Curious to know what you doing at a very remote part but as you say, it may mean you have to do something to me if you tell me... ;)
